1. Overview

KitLoop helps you organize gear kits, pack items for trips, scan QR labels, check returns, and share kits or reports. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use KitLoop on Apple devices.

We designed KitLoop so that your kits, items, photos, trip checkmarks, and backups are stored on your device. We do not operate a KitLoop account server that collects your packing content.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the App, KitLoop may store locally:

• Kit and item names, notes, and organization data

• Photos you add to items

• QR / label-related images and identifiers generated in the App

• Trip information (names, dates, pack/return status, history)

• App settings (appearance, scanner preferences, label/paper preferences)

• Backup and export files you create

• Optional edit-protection codes you set for kits (stored securely on device using Apple platform security features such as the Keychain, where applicable)

This content remains under your control on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

2.2 Camera and media access

If you grant permission, KitLoop may use:

• Camera — to scan QR labels and capture item photos

• Photo library / files — only when you choose to import, export, share, save, or restore content

We do not use the camera for advertising or background surveillance.

2.3 Purchases and subscriptions

KitLoop Pro may be offered through Apple as:

• Auto-renewable subscriptions (for example monthly or yearly), and/or

• A one-time (lifetime) purchase

Purchase processing, payment details, billing, refunds, and Apple ID information are handled by Apple, not by us. We do not receive your full payment card details. The App may receive purchase entitlements/status from Apple StoreKit so it can unlock Pro features and restore purchases.

2.4 Promo codes

If you redeem a promo code inside KitLoop, the App may validate that code locally or according to the redemption flow configured in the App. Promo redemption does not require creating a KitLoop website account.

2.5 Files you share or receive

If you use system share sheets or Files, you may transfer:

• Kit archives (.cplct)

• Backups (.kitloopbackup)

• Return reports (.cplctreport) and/or PDFs

• Packed-list PDFs

Once shared outside the App (email, messaging apps, AirDrop, cloud folders, another person’s device, etc.), the recipient’s apps and services apply their own privacy practices. We do not control those third parties.

2.6 Diagnostics and device permissions

The App may use standard Apple APIs needed for local file handling and settings (including APIs declared in KitLoop’s Apple Privacy Manifest). KitLoop’s Privacy Manifest indicates no tracking and no collected data types reported for tracking/analytics collection by the App itself.

We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising SDKs in KitLoop.

3. How We Use Information

On-device data is used solely to provide App features, including:

• Creating and editing kits/items

• Packing and return workflows

• Scanning and label/export tools

• Trip history and reports

• Backup/restore

• Unlocking Free/Pro feature limits based on Apple purchase status

4. Legal Bases (where applicable)

If data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, processing is typically based on:

• Performance of the service you requested (providing the App features)

• Your consent (for example camera/photo access)

• Legitimate interests in operating and securing the App

• Legal obligations, when required

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by:

• Apple - App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, device OS privacy/security features

• People or services you choose - when you export/share files yourself

We do not operate a KitLoop cloud sync backend for your kits in the current App design.

6. Data Retention

Local App data remains on your device until you delete it in the App, restore/overwrite it from a backup, or delete the App (subject to Apple device backup behavior). Shared files remain wherever you or recipients stored them. Apple retains purchase records according to Apple’s policies.

7. Security

We rely on Apple platform protections (sandboxing, local storage, Keychain where used, and system permission prompts). No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Keep your device passcode/biometrics enabled and share files only with trusted recipients. If you use kit edit-protection codes, share those codes only with people you intend to allow editing.

8. Children’s Privacy

KitLoop is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). Do not use the App to submit children’s personal data if you are not permitted to do so.

9. International Users

KitLoop is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple and your device may process data in different countries under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to withdraw consent. Because KitLoop stores your content locally, you can usually:

• Edit or delete kits/items/trips in the App

• Delete exported files you created

• Revoke camera/photos permissions in iOS Settings

• Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings

• Delete the App from your device

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The App and our websites may link to third-party sites (including Apple). Their privacy practices are their own.

 

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of KitLoop after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
