
FREED Tracker — Privacy Policy

App: FREED Tracker (iOS / iPadOS)
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how FREED Tracker (“the App”) handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad. The App provides real-time camera tracking and sends motion data to equipment you configure on your local network.
We designed the App so that tracking data is not sent to Tobe Production servers. Motion and network output stay on your device and your local network, under your control.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not:

Operate a cloud service that receives your tracking data

Sell your personal information

Use your tracking data for advertising

Create user accounts on our servers
3. Information Processed on Your Device
The App uses the following device capabilities locally to compute position and orientation:

This sensor data is processed on your device to produce tracking values shown in the App and encoded into FreeD UDP packets.
4. Network and UDP Output
When you tap Start, the App sends UDP packets to the IP address and port you enter (e.g. your virtual production workstation, Unreal Engine, Vizrt, or other receiver).

You choose the destination.

Data is sent over your local network or Personal Hotspot.

We do not intercept, log, or relay these packets on our servers.
The App may request Local Network permission on iOS so UDP sending works on your LAN.
5. Data Stored on Your Device
The App may store locally on your device:

Network settings (IP, port, camera ID)

Calibration offsets and axis mapping preferences

Smoothing and tracking source settings

Optional project export/import JSON (Pro subscription)

Diagnostic log entries (recent UDP events, shown in the App)
This data remains on your device unless you export it yourself (e.g. project JSON copy) or remove the App.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Pro subscriptions (monthly or yearly) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
Apple may provide us with anonymized subscription status information (e.g. whether a subscription is active) as part of App Store infrastructure. Manage subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
7. Permissions
The App may request:

Camera — required for ARKit position tracking

Motion & Fitness — device orientation (yaw, pitch, roll)

Local Network — UDP packet delivery on your LAN

Location (optional) — only if you enable GPS position mode
You can deny optional permissions; some features may be limited.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect tracking data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored settings from your device (subject to iOS backup behavior).
10. Security
Tracking data is transmitted only to endpoints you configure. Use a trusted local network. We recommend not exposing UDP receivers directly to the public internet.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
